Design Of Rugged High Voltage Power Supplies For Use In Low Noise Multimode Radar Transmitter Sub-Systems
7/16/2019
A radar transmitter is generally required to amplify a low noise coherent RF waveform. This paper covers an approach to the design of high voltage power supply units for operating traveling wave tube amplifiers in pulse doppler radar transmitter sub‐systems where ultra-low noise RF output is mandatory.

Receiver Protectors And Control Components
5/14/2018
CPI’s Beverly Microwave Division (BMD) offers a comprehensive variety of receiver protectors and control components ranging from low-frequency coaxial limiters to complete TR limiters with phase attenuation and phase control up to the Ka-band.

CFA Theory Of Operation
11/3/2017
A CFA is a vacuum electron device (VED) which might best be described as part magnetron and part traveling wave tube (TWT). This device is used to generate power with high efficiency and voltage levels of a magnetron while the electronic interaction is with a traveling wave. This white paper further discusses CFA characteristics and its operational theory.

Magnetron Transmitter For Electromagnetic Vulnerability Testing
2/21/2017
CPI Beverly Microwave Division's family of magnetron transmitter modules for high power electromagnetic vulnerability (EMV) testing can operate a variety of magnetron types. Features include peak power up to 1.5 MW, operating frequencies from the L-band to Ka-band, and touch screen computer control.

A 1.5 kW X-Band GaN Power Amplifier for Radar Application
6/15/2015
Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) incorporating GaN transistors provide compact and efficient sources of microwave power. CPI has developed a 1.5 kW X-band SSPA, CPI model VSX3622, for radar applications. The VSX3622 SSPA combines the power from two VSX3614 SSPAs, which each operate at nominally 1 kW, saturated. This paper will present details of the design and performance data for both amplifiers.

A 13-kW S-Band GaN Power Amplifier Design For Radar Applications
5/2/2013
The introduction of GaN as a solid state semiconductor material has enabled the manufacture of high-power, efficient amplifiers in a small volume. This paper presents details of the design and performance data for the VSS3607 amplifier, including results from a 1000-hour life test.
