High Power Microwave Signal Generator: Model 845-HP

Source: Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation

Higher power in their signal generators was Berkeley Nucelonics’ number one request from their customers, and they delivered on it. The model 845-HP microwave signal generator is very similar to the model 845, but its wide and accurately levelled output power range (up to +23 DBM) and high spurious suppression set it apart.

The 845-HP microwave signal generator covers the 100 kHz to 20 GHz frequency range. Like the 845, it’s ideal for use as an R&D low noise microwave source, for signal simulation, service/maintenance, production and testing, and in aerospace and defense applications.

This signal generator includes amplitude modulation (AM), DC-coupled, low distortion wideband frequency modulation (FM), PM, FSK and PSK, frequency chirp, and fast pulse modulation with an internal pulse train generator. Complex modulation signals can be achieved because each modulation mode can be combined. For instance, combining FM and AM can be effective in checking the fading effects of FM receivers. Combining pulse modulation with FM can be used to simulate Doppler effects or chirp signals.
