Huawei Ushers In The 5.5G Era By Introducing A Complete Line Of 5.5G Solutions
Dubai, United Arab Emirates /PRNewswire/ - At the Global Mobile Broadband Forum 2023 (MBBF 2023), the President of Huawei's Wireless Solutions Division Cao Ming introduced the first complete series of 5.5G solutions in this industry. At the launch event, he mentioned that "5.5G technology is coming at the right time to support new experiences, connections and services" and emphasized that "Huawei's comprehensive 5.5G solution offering will help operators ensure ten times higher capacities in all user scenarios and will enable completely extraordinary energy efficiency, use of the spectrum and efficiency of operation and maintenance."
5.5G: coming at the right time to modernize mobile connectivity
5G has been in commercial development for more than four years and is developing much faster than previous mobile technologies. In addition, the scaled implementation of 5G technologies brings a new impetus for the growth of the digital economy. But 5G is also the driving force behind a whole range of new experiences, connections and services. Thanks to the 5G network, the realm of immersive experiences has opened up for individual and home users. The 5G network enabled Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity in any scenario, penetrated basic manufacturing to enable flexible production management, and at the same time accelerated the adoption of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies for intelligent transportation.
5.5G is now arriving just in time to enhance the connectivity of people, homes, things, vehicles and entire industries. Huawei's complete 5.5G solution offering can help operators efficiently build 5.5G networks through continuous innovation in five core categories: broadband, multi-band, multi-antenna, intelligent and green.
Ten times the possibilities with products from the 5.5 G solution series
TDD multi-band multi-channel ELAA for 10 Gb/s . ELAA (extremely large antenna array) technology has helped commercial 5G networks significantly increase TDD coverage and energy efficiency. In addition, with the transition of telecommunications to 5.5G, ELAA is further modernized. Based on the new ELAA, the industry's first 128T MetaAAU, integrating over 500 antenna elements, can work with high-resolution multi-dimensional beam algorithms to improve the user experience by 50%. With the ELAA upgrade, the industry's first dual-band 64T MetaAAU can work with dual-band converged elements that enable co-coverage of high and low bands for an unmatched 5 to 10 Gbps experience along with multi-carrier solutions.
FDD GigaGreen series will improve basic services . The first three-band FDD Massive MIMO modules and three-band 8T modules support GHz-level bandwidth, allowing to combine 1.8+2.1+2.6 GHz in one device, while being able to use FDD beamforming to significantly improve spectral and energy efficiency of FDD. Compared to the 4T4R technology, the three-band FDD Massive MIMO technology increases the capacity by ten times and the coverage by 10 dB. The tri-band FDD 8T8R increases the spectral efficiency by three times and the coverage by 7 dB using full broadband and dynamic power sharing.
Continuous coverage of 10 Gb/s thanks to mmWave AAU with the largest antenna array . The millimeter wave (mmWave) industry has already reached the necessary maturity. The industry's first mmWave AAU includes more than 2,000 antenna elements that overcome mmWave band limitations while simultaneously covering C-band. By coordinating between high and low bands, mmWave networks can provide a maximum throughput of 10 Gbps, with an average throughput of 5 Gbps with. This AAU also supports intelligent beam steering, overcoming the limitations of the mmWave band for high-speed mobility and NLOS transmission.
Improving performance and saving energy thanks to DIS brings 5.5G indoors . The LampSite X series integrates five bands and mmWave in one device to support full bandwidth across all bands for all radio access technologies. It also enables a super-deep sleep mode that reduces off-peak power consumption to just 1 Watt. To provide the coverage that underground parking lots and other similar areas require, LightSite's unique medium-power multiband module can provide 35% better user comfort and lower TCO than conventional DAS solutions.
Continuous innovation of antennas and microwaves for efficient construction of 5.5G . Green antennas change the existing concept of antenna architecture thanks to direct signal transmission (Signal Direct Injection Feeding, SDIF) and use Meta Lens technology to aggregate beam energy to achieve 25% higher energy efficiency. The microwave band gets the new MAGICSwave platform for the modernization of transport networks. MAGICSwave supports ultra-wide multi-channel transmission to increase the efficiency of backhaul networks with higher capacity for urban areas and longer transmission distance for suburban areas. It is characterized by a high level of integration that enables networks to continuously evolve over the next 10 years.
Efficient and intelligent 5.5G ensures optimal network efficiency
iHashBand2.0 spectrum pooling for optimal 5.5G spectrum efficiency . iHashBand2.0 redefines the definition of multi-band spectrum utilization from the ground up: The Serving Cell (MB-SC) enables the flexible combination of discontinuous spectrum for virtual high bandwidth, enabling speeds of 10 Gb/s while achieving 40% higher spectral efficiency. FSA (Flexible spectrum access) supports flexible access to the entire uplink band, bringing the uplink to Gb/sso speed with 40% higher spectral efficiency.
"0 Bits, 0 Watts" in all scenarios for optimal 5.5G power efficiency . The complete line of devices supports the "0 Bits, 0 Watts" system and is the first in the industry to offer a super-deep sleep mode with 99% shutdown depth, fast wake-up on demand and millisecond-level shutdown at both the carrier and channel levels. On-premise solutions realize intelligent coordination between power supplies and devices, ensuring the achievement of "0 bits, 0 watts" at the workplace level. With the iPowerStar system, site-specific energy saving policies can be implemented based on traffic trends at different times of the day, realizing "0 bits, 0 watts" at the network level.
IntelligentRAN towards L4 for optimal operation and maintenance of 5.5G . To provide more services and connections, networks will depend on more bands, which justifies the tendency of 5.5G to progress to a high level of autonomy. IntelligentRAN supports intent-based intelligence at the L4 level. As a result, reactive network management and maintenance can be replaced with proactive methods of prevention and prediction, networks are aware of service intentions to provide better deterministic experiences, and multi-objective decision making is supported to optimize service experience and network energy efficiency.
"The future is here. Huawei will continue to develop innovative products and solutions in cooperation with all industry partners to make 5.5G our reality," Cao concluded.
