dB Control Announces Industry Veteran Steve Walley Joins Company As Vice President Of Business Development
Walley's Four Decades of Microwave Amplifier Industry Experience Benefit High-Power TWTA, MPM Customers
Fremont, CA (PRWEB) - dB Control Corp., an established manufacturer known for its reliable, high-power microwave amplifiers, radar/electronic countermeasure (ECM) transmitters, and high- and low-voltage power supplies has hired industry veteran Steve Walley as vice president of business development. In his new position, Walley will be responsible for developing new business ventures and strengthening existing relationships with customers such as BAE Systems, General Atomics, Northrop Grumman, the U.S. Navy and several others. His nearly 40 years of experience in the commercial and military microwave industries includes both domestic and international sales and marketing of traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs).
"Steve's vision for dB Control aligns with our customers' needs for reliable next-gen microwave products and his wealth of experience is unmatched," said dB Control President Fred Ortiz. "We look forward to having him on our executive team."
Walley's professional background includes engineering, manufacturing, production, program management, sales and marketing. He started in the industry as a section manager at Teledyne MEC, where he focused on TWTs for military and satellite ground systems. Fifteen years later as product line manager at Varian (now CPI), Walley oversaw, for almost a decade, the development of power products for military and satcom applications, including TWT airborne transmitters and MPMs. Most recently, he was director of customer support and director of international marketing for Comtech Xicom Technology for the last fifteen years.
In addition to hiring Walley, dB Control is preparing for increased business with the addition of a 12,100-square-foot environmental test laboratory adjacent to its main production facility in Fremont, Calif. Expected to be fully operational in the third quarter of 2012, the laboratory will accelerate production, eliminate outsourced testing fees and provide room for future expansion of manufacturing and assembly services.
